This charming and historic town located just outside Ocean City was named America’s Coolest Small Town in 2014. Assateague Island
Located just a few miles south of Ocean City sits an island covered in sand dunes, pine forests and salt marshes, known as Assateague Island. It is divided into two sections, Assateague State Park and Assateague National Seashore. Assateague State Park happens to be Maryland’s only oceanfront park. It is a place where people come to enjoy camping, canoeing, kayaking, the beach, and gazing at the variety of wildlife, including deer, waterfowl and horses. The National Seashore offers off-road, drive-on access (passes are required), and some areas are even dog friendly. Ocean Pines
Ocean Pines is a waterfront community situated less than 10 miles from pristine Maryland beaches and nestled in the midst of 3,500 acres of wooded lands. The town provides four outdoor pools, one indoor heated pool, a community center, parks, playgrounds, and walking trails. Salisbury
Salisbury is located about 30 miles from Ocean City, MD and is the largest city in the states Eastern Shore Region. The main attractions of the city include the Salisbury Zoo, the Youth and Civic Center, the eventful downtown, and all the Salisbury University sponsored events. Salisbury’s downtown has 13 restaurants, 5 galleries, a regional library, and is a place that hosts monthly events and live music.
